Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud

The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.

Helix Nebula Keynote Session @ ISC Cloud’12, 24 September 2012, Mannheim

On September 24th, starting at 1 pm, ISC Cloud’12 will host a keynote session focused on the Helix Nebula Initiative advancements.

Entitled Big science teams up with big business to kick-start European cloud computing - Progress of Helix Nebula - the Science Cloud, the keynote session opening the two day ISC Cloud’12 event, on September 24th  will be dedicated entirely to the Helix Nebula project developments.

Chaired by Wolfgang Gentzsc, the working agenda will highlight how the Helix Nebula Initiative is driving forward scientific discovery and it will feature presentations by  Bob Jones from  CERN and Rupert Lueck from  EMBL. Giles Hogben (CSA) was also in the panel.

Helix Nebula is a new, pioneering partnership between leading IT providers and four of Europe’s biggest research centres, CERN, EMBL, ESA and PIC, charting a course towards sustainable cloud services for the research communities - the Science Cloud.
