Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud
The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.
The Partnership
The Helix Nebula Initiative is a pioneering partnership between leading IT providers and some of Europe's biggest research centres, CERN, EMBL, ESA and PIC, charting a course towards sustainable cloud services for the research communities - the Science Cloud.
The Science Cloud Strategic Plan was adopted by representatives of all stakeholder groups at a workshop hosted by ESA/ESRIN in June 2011.

The scale and complexity of the Helix Nebula platform reaches far beyond what a single company can provide on its own.
This is why the Helix Nebula public/private partnership has increased in size, bringing together a range of different partners to drive its vision: Atos, CERN, CLOUDEO, CloudSigma, Cloudwatt, CNES, CNR-IREA, DataCentred, Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange, EMBL, ESA, Exoscale, GÉANT, iNNOVO Cloud, PIC, Prologue, SixSq, Stichting EGI, SWITCH, T-Systems, The Server Labs and Ultimum Technologies.
Major cloud computing vendors are already part of the initiative, and Helix Nebula is looking for even wider participation: more scientific organisations and service providers are welcome to join the Helix Nebula Initiative. Find out more by writing to us at contact@helix-nebula.eu
