Helix Nebula @ ICT2013 – Create, Connect, Grow, Vilnius, 6-8 November 2013
CERN, ESA, T-Systems, EGI.eu presented Helix Nebula at ICT2013 – Create, Connect, Grow, in Vilnius on 6-8 November 2013.
ICT2013 brought together Europe's best & brightest in ICT research, with businesses old & new, web start-ups and digital strategists to chart a path for Europe's ICT research policy.
ICT2013 - Create, connect, Grow - confirmed to be the largest event in Europe for ICT research with nearly 6000 registered participants, 200 exhibitors, 180 networking sessions and 80 renowned global speakers. Furthermore, almost 4.000 people followed the conference online and via social media.
The event was an excellent occasion to share ideas, create visions, connect people, establish partnership aiming to the growth of ICT sector in Europe and well accomplishing the motto of the event.
The conference programme focused on three main topics around the Horizon 2020 EU research programme: ICT for Excellent science, ICT for Industrial Leadership, ICT for Societal challenges, with cloud computing under spotlight under all of these topics.
The session "Exascale: challenges and benefits" within the topic ICT for Excellent science, featured Maryline Lengert who presented the Helix Nebula initiative.
This session addressed high demands of extreme computing and Europe's strategy to be a leader in achieving this challenge. High value input from participants contributed to trigger a very fruitful discussion.
