Helix Nebula @ CSA CEE Summit, 23-25 October 2013, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Helix Nebula was presented by Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) at the CSA CEE Summit in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 23-25 October 2013.

Building on the success of the CSA Congresses held in the USA in 2010 and 2011 and the inaugural EMEA Congress 2012, VERSUS and the Cloud Security Alliance organized the first Annual Cloud Security Alliance Summit for CEE.

Dr. Jesus Luna Garcia from the Cloud Security Alliance made a presentation about Helix Nebula, a cloud environment built for providing computing resources for science and academic organizations in the EU.

The audience on the CSA CEE summit (mostly security practitioners) raised interesting questions related with the security challenges of the cloud broker model used by Helix Nebula (i.e., the Blue Boxes). In particular the discussion focused on how HN is dealing with the actual "security assurance" a customer might expect from the proposed model e.g., how to guarantee/assess/realize the security level that the overall HN system says to be providing?
