Europe’s Leading Public-Private Partnership for Cloud

The Helix Nebula Initiative is a partnership between industry, space and science to establish a dynamic ecosystem, benefiting from open cloud services for the seamless integration of science into a business environment. Today, the partnership counts over 40 public and private partners.

The National Research Council (CNR) is the main public research entity in Italy aimed at carrying out, promoting, transferring and improving research activities in key areas of the knowledge-based economy. The Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) at CNR pioneered the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) processing technique for generating deformation time series starting from SAR data. IREA‐CNR has a high level expertise in scientific SAR and DInSAR algorithm development. In the Helix Nebula project, IREA-CNR co-sponsors the earth observation flagship use case.
